Cahir Childrens Playground Open from 9.00 every day during daylight hours Children must be accompanied by an adult and admission is free   _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Offical Opening Saturday 3rd December Despite poor and rainy weather, quite a few parents and children attended the official opening of the new playground by Councillor Derry Foley (Chairman of South Tipperary County Council) on Saturday last. It was indeed a pleasure to witness so many happy faces as Councillor Foley opened the gates to let everyone in. The facility is one that is long overdue in Cahir, and is one that is guaranteed to keep children happy for many years to come  We are delighted to welcome here today Councillor Derry Foley, Chairman of South Tipperary County Council to open our brand new Children’s Playground. It follows closely on the opening of this magnificent building beside us, the Duneske Sports and Leisure Centre.  When the overall project was first mooted, the Management Committee set about planning for facilities that will cater for all parts of our community – young and old – and the children of Cahir and surrounds were without doubt the greatest priority. The Committee would like to think that with the opening of this beautiful playground, that this objective has been achieved.  The Playground specifically designed for Cahir, and with a Castle as its centre piece, reflecting Cahir Castle and the important role that it plays in Cahir Town. And with the soon to be added Childcare Centre, we look forward to seeing a lot of our young people enjoying these wonderful facilities for many years to come. This playground which has cost €134,000, has been 100% funded by ADM Dormant Accounts, and by our own South Tipperary County Council an we are very thankful to both for their considerable contributions. The Playground will open at 9am every morning, and will open every day during daylight hours. Everyone is welcome, but with only one provision. That is that all children using it must be accompanied by an adult. And of course, it is free of charge.  Congratulations to all involved in bringing this wonderful facility to Cahir.
